American Blonde brought their actual hometown into the studio to sing on their new single.
The Mississippi-born five-piece has released “Delta Home,” the title track from their upcoming October EP, premiered by Center Stage Magazine and available now for pre-save. The song opens with a slide guitar line that announces its rock intentions immediately, and from there it never lets up, moving through the band’s signature blend of Delta blues roots, classic rock energy, and Motown-inflected soul. Produced by GRAMMY®-nominated Cage the Elephant founding member Lincoln Parish, the track pulls from a wide well of influence without ever losing its footing.
The lyrics lay the band’s identity out plainly: “Born with the Delta Blues, raised on Rock n Roll, whole lotta faith in country, and a little bit of Motown soul.” Drummer Tinka Morris says the song reflects something deeper than a lyric sheet. “Every fiber of our soul and being is undeniably inspired and fueled by our collective Delta heritage,” she explains. “It shows the world who we are and where we come from.”
That sense of home extends beyond the songwriting. American Blonde brought in their hometown choir, along with choral students from the Delta State Vocal Collective and the Delta Music Institute, to sing on the record itself. For lead vocalist Nata Morris, that detail carries real significance. “Those places mentored us and helped shape us as musicians,” she says, “so to hear those voices means the world to us.”
The edgier direction on “Delta Home” is already opening new doors for the band. American Blonde will join multi-platinum rockers Candlebox for select dates on the Can’t Quit You Tour this October, a fitting next step for a group that started as the teenage sister trio Southern Halo before evolving into their current five-piece lineup: Nata Morris on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Tinka Morris on vocals and drums, Pete Horne and Zach Dickerson on guitars, and Will Garrett on bass and background vocals.
