The Big Time Rhythm &Blues Band was formed in the spring of 2010 by Michael “Cadillac” Dennis, guitarist/vocalist, and Tommy “Wildcat” Collins, bass guitarist. After playing for other artists, the duo decided to form their own band and develop their own show. Throughout the years, members have come and gone, but the band continues, and today the band’s focus remains on presenting a live performance that audiences enjoy while still doing what they love most, making music.
The band performs music from multiple genres, including Blues and R&B to Pop and Top 40 Oldies. The band’s musical influences include B.B. King, Prince, Eric Clapton, and Bill Withers. Unlike some musicians who limit themselves to one playing style, the Big Time Rhythm & Blues Band continues to diversify its set list, delving into other genres of music such as jazz and classical.
The Big Time Rhythm & Blues Band currently performs throughout the Delta and Ark-La-Miss, while occasionally venturing out to other areas. They have enjoyed the privilege of pairing with Chicago Blues legend Jo Jo Murray on a number of recent performances. For the summer of 2022, the band is preparing to hit the road and participate in a number of festivals and music events, including the Yellow Dog Festival in Moorhead and the Cairo Blues & Heritage Festival in Cairo, Illinois.
