Mike Ellis is a country singer and guitarist based in the Mississippi Delta. Born in Memphis, TN, raised in Webb, MS, and currently based in Sumner, Ellis is a long-time Delta resident. “I choose to live in the Mississippi Delta because of my love for agriculture and music. The Delta is rich in both.” Ellis has had a love for music and singing since early childhood, and he picked up the guitar at age eleven. As a teen, he and four friends formed the Hometown Band. Over the years, the band played shows across the midsouth, including the Mid-South Fair and the Orpheum Theater in Memphis. They opened for the likes of Tanya Tucker, Freddie Fender, and Steve Wariner, and served as the backing band for Johnny Russell, Guy Hovis, Jackie Ward, and more. Mike Ellis and the Hometown Band even hopped across the pond once to embark on a tour of Germany, entertaining American and NATO troops. With a catalog as rich as the Delta soil that raised him, Mike Ellis is sure to captivate any audience.
