BONUS SATURDAY SHOW! Deep Roots: Live Downtown! is pleased to offer a ‘bonus’ show during 50 Nights of Lights with Delta favorite, Mohead. Singer/songwriter Mohead has recorded for Rounder Records and was a staff writer for Universal Music Nashville, where he co-wrote “Southern Women,” a Billboard top 20 hit for the Wright Brothers, with Kent Blazy. He has recorded over seven full length albums of original music and has numerous film and TV credits to his name. Mohead spent years touring, performing over 200 dates a year with artists including Little Feat, David Allen Coe, the Allman Brothers, Warren Haynes, Billy Joe Shaver and Widespread Panic. Mohead is hailed as a writer/performer who is “steeped in Southern Comfort rather than counterfeiting it.”
Mohead’s latest project, Mograss, available on all streaming platforms, is a slight departure from his southern rock past. Mograss mixes a behind the beat groove with bluegrass instrumentation, featuring Blue Mother Tupelo’s Ricky Davis on dobro and GRAMMY® award winner Charlie Musselwhite on harmonica.
