Deep Roots Mardi Gras! – The Lions of Winter @ Backdraft

The Lions of Winter are a trio of Delta musicians who joyfully offer up the best in jazz, swing and blues whenever and wherever asked. The trio consists of Robin Webb on keyboard, Josh Armstrong on drums, and Rogers Varner on sax.  The three met at Delta State University as part of the school’s jazz band and decided to play expand their performing opportunities by accepting invitations to various local and regional gigs, including weddings, BBQs, pool parties, barn dances, fish fries, honky-tonks and juke joints.  Improvisation is the rule for this talented trio, and the Lions of Winter can be counted on to be well-mannered, entertaining, and on time, all the time.
