The Mississippi Songwriters Festival, founded in 2010 and presented each year on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, is returning to the Delta for the second ‘Delta Edition’ satellite festival in Cleveland on May 17-18 at the Delta Arts Alliance. The Mississippi Songwriters Festival – Delta Region will feature hit songwriters Clay Mills, Tom Kimmel, and Kate Campbell along with 20+ local songwriters, performing original songs in an ‘in the round’ setting at the Delta Arts Alliance. All festival performances are free and open to the public.
Songwriters will perform on Friday and Saturday evening, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Delta Arts Alliance at 104 S. Court St. in Cleveland. Along with the songwriter shows, the festival will offer two music business seminars on Saturday for festival attendees and interested members of the public. Clay Mills will present “Mastering Melody Writing” and Tom Kimmel will offer a song critique session titled “Adding More Heart To Your Songs.” A complete festival schedule, along with a registration form for the workshops, can be found online at https://www.msafestival.org/live-events/delta-region.
