DESCRIPTION:Mississippi Marshall is a singer/songwriter/guitarist raised right in the heart of the Mississippi Delta. Marshall’s original guitar stylings range from old style Delta Blues to in-your-face blues boogie. His original music reflects his life experiences and for over 30 years\, he has toured the country\, headlining Blues clubs and festivals\, including the Juke Joint Festival\, Unity Festival\, World Catfish Festival\, Que on the Yazoo\, and the Sam Chatmon Festival\, both as a solo artist and with his band\, The Juke Daddys. \nMississippi Marshall is a two-time International Blues Challenge Semi-Finalist and a Mississippi Music Foundation award winner for Best Instrumental.  Marshall and his grandson\, Grayson\, were semifinalists  at the 2024 International Blues Challenge in Memphis\, TN. He recently released his fourth album titled I Believe I’ll Go Back Home.

SUMMARY:Deep Roots: Fourth Friday Live Downtown! - Big Time Rhythm & Blues Band
DESCRIPTION:Born and raised in the Mississippi Delta\, ‘Cadillac’ Dennis’ musical journey began with singing and playing drums with the church choir as a kid.  While majoring in music at Mississippi Valley State University\, he began dabbling with guitar and piano.  This led to his playing in a number of Gospel bands in his twenties\, before starting to play guitar for various Blues artists. Dennis formed his own band\, the Big Time Rhythm & Blues Band in the spring of 2010 and booked performances throughout the South\, Northwest\, and even Hawaii.  He recently released a single\, “2X Woman”\, which he co-produced with the help of another Deep Roots musician\, Eric Edwards.

SUMMARY:Deep Roots 2026 Spring Series - Robin Webb @ Backdraft
DESCRIPTION:Pianist Robin Webb has performed as a classical and cocktail soloist\, in addition to combo and collaborative work on all seven continents\, including Antarctica. Cruise ships\, global destination resorts\, New York and European cabaret houses and clubs\, theatres on Broadway\, London’s West End and regional cities kept Robin’s performance schedule busy before returning to his boyhood home\, the Mississippi Delta. Since returning to the Delta\, Robin has been pursuing a newfound love for jazz piano\, having attended the Czech Republic Jazz Workshop\, Stanford University Jazz Workshop\, and University of North Texas workshops. Robin holds a doctorate degree in music.
