SUMMARY:Deep Roots 2026 Fall Series - Tony Boyd @ Bar Fontaine
DESCRIPTION:There are two sides to Tony Boyd – the mellow guitarist/vocalist with a deep sense of time and place in heartfelt lyrics\, and the bluesy rocker who plays the harmonica with raucous abandon. As the former\, his sound has been described as “soothing” or even “haunting\,” and is inspired by artists like Guy Clark\, whose songwriting sensibilities measure up to true art. As the latter\, it’s a sound that doesn’t need words to communicate clearly. As both\, Boyd is drawn to music that describes the human condition\, expresses a variety of emotions\, and is deeply therapeutic. \nBoyd is one of those artists who plays music that definitely sounds good as the backing track to a crowded bar\, but is an even greater treasure when you listen closely. Tony Boyd invites you to take a seat\, have a drink\, and let his laid-back tribute to Americana transport you.

SUMMARY:Deep Roots 2026 Fall Series - Billy Maines @ Bar Fontaine
DESCRIPTION:Americana singer/songwriter Billy Maines grew up in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains in a village on the Hudson River near Woodstock\, New York. He started taking guitar lessons at an early age and played in various rock bands during high school. While attending college at Cortland College in New York\, Billy began honing his writing skills for a performing duo. \nAfter graduation\, Maines relocated to Boulder\, Colorado\, where the wide open music scene inspired his writing and encouraged his performing with different bands up and down the ‘front range’ of the Rockies. He plays guitar\, harmonica\, mandolin\, and fiddle across genres of Americana\, Alternative Rock and the Blues. He credits his main musical influences as The Band\, Neil Young\, Muddy Waters\, and Bob Dylan. \nAfter moving to the Mississippi Delta in 2004\, he learned to appreciate the rich heritage of the music of Mississippi\, began to perform as a solo artist and continues to do so today.

SUMMARY:Deep Roots 2026 Fall Series - Aubrey Holman @ Backdraft
DESCRIPTION:Aubrey Holman is a singer-songwriter hailing from the river city of Greenville\, Mississippi. “Americana” might be the category which most broadly defines his acoustic blend of blues\, folk\, country\, and rock. His original music tends toward dark and emotional with a few spots of brightness here and there. Like the mighty Mississippi whose reach covers over half of the United States\, his music combines genres and connects listeners. \nOver the years\, he has performed with other bands and as a solo musician. He’s comfortable on larger stages\, such as the Neshoba County Fair\, where he performed with his band Shake Bone Fest\, and even more so in intimate venues. Most of his time performing is spent at restaurants and private parties\, where he is free to soothe or excite the crowd with his rhythmic guitar playing and emotionally driven lyrics.
